Non-Surgical Lip Fillers

Non-Surgical Lip Fillers

We offer non-surgical lip fillers, or lip injections, which are quick, safe and effective ways to restore symmetry, fullness and definition to the lips without the risks of surgery.

Who is a candidate for non-surgical lip fillers?

Healthy patients who desire more attractive, luscious, full lips may be perfect candidates for lip injection or lip fillers.

What is the procedure and recovery like?

Lip enhancements, or fillers, are performed in our office with a topical or injectable numbing medication. The lip filler solution is gently injected into the lips with a fine needle. Minimal, if any, discomfort or pain is experienced.

Patients are instructed to avoid eating and drinking until numbness resolves, generally within two hours. Ice may be applied to the lips for a short time immediately following the procedure to minimize bruising and swelling. Most patients report minimal discomfort or pain following a lip injection but may be treated with acetaminophen, if needed. Aspirin, NSAIDs and other medications known to cause bleeding and bruising are discouraged for one week prior and one week following the procedure. If present at all, mild swelling and bruising may last seven to 10 days and can be treated with a cold compress.

Makeup and other cosmetic products may be used on the lips on the day after injection. Most patients return to their occupational and social activities on the same day. Our experienced surgeons reduce bruising and recovery time with the application of state-of-the-art techniques and the use of homeopathic or herbal options. Detailed postoperative and aftercare instructions will be provided to each patient.
