Surgical Treatment for Snoring

Surgical Treatment for Snoring

Snoring is typically treated with office procedures that stiffen the soft palate (back of the roof of the mouth). The soft palate is made up of mainly muscle. Because all muscles in our body relax during sleep, the soft palate can vibrate and produce snoring during sleep. Palate stiffening reduces the ability of the soft palate to flutter during sleep and cause snoring.

The most common procedures for snoring are the Pillar® procedure and Palate Radiofrequency, a controlled type of cauterization.
